About Us
Policy Playground was created by Emmet O'Sullivan, a senior at Regis High School in New York City. In 2020, he was diagnosed with type one diabetes (T1D), a chronic disease with no cure. Since his diagnosis, Emmet has been on a mission to create awareness for T1D, raise funds to help find a cure, and build a community for teens with T1D.
Motivated by his personal experience advocating for insulin affordability bills, he built Policy Playground, a website for citizens to learn about legislation before Congress and write to their senators. Phase two of this website will extend to other policy areas beyond healthcare.
